Nars Sheer Glow Foundation Review
Hi there everyone, I have another review for you today, this time on a foundation. I want to do more of these so please let me know what you would like to see me try and review and I would happily write a post about it.
Today I went to Mecca Maxima after a tester of the new Born This Way foundation by Two Faced. Unfortunately, this Mecca didn't stock Two Faced and decided to give Nars a go instead. I have herd so many good things about this foundation, and everyone I have seen wear it, looked absolutely flawless.
Not going to lie, there is more things I dislike about this foundation than I like about it, which upsets me but thankfully I tried/tested it before I bought a full size product.
I will start off with the things that I liked about this foundation. I love the coverage of this foundation, its a light to medium coverage yet its build-able which I prefer anyway. The consistency of this foundation is also quite thin and watery.
On the skin, the foundation feels very lightweight and from a distance it doesn't look like you are wearing foundation, which again I like. I also like that there is a large selection of colour choices and the one that the makeup artist assisting me chose was the perfect match!
In photos this foundation is "okay" its nothing wow, photo shopped looking but its definitely not awful. I definitely think I have other cheaper foundations that look a lot better in photos than this foundation. (Unfortunately I don't have a photo to show.)
Moving onto what I really want to talk about with this foundation. For those who don't know, I have extremely dry, dehydrated skin, no matter what products I test and trial nothing seems to work. This makes it hard for me to find foundations that look and sit great on my skin.
This foundation didn't last two hours, before it started breaking up on my skin. It immediately clung to dry patches and sunk into fine lines and pores on my face. This just didn't look great at all on my skin, considering the watery consistency. Aside from the fact it looked great from a distance, and looked like I wasn't wearing foundation, up close, you could clearly tell I was wearing foundation.
The texture of this foundation once its been applied to the face and set with a powder is quite tacky. It almost feels like the foundation is actually wet. This then made the foundation transfer onto everything and anything, including my hands. It also felt like it was just sliding off my face. Most foundations that I have tried don't actually do this nor feel this way and they are much cheaper than this foundation.
I definitely wouldn't recommend this foundation if you have a similar skin type to me. Even with a great moisturiser and the Nars primer, this foundation still did what it did on my skin. Perhaps its better with more normal to oily skin?
If you have tried this foundation let me know your thoughts and what your skin type is, I would like to test it some more.
Signing off, Emily x
